Good news, everyone!
Smartlaunch is having it’s yearly Easter vacation, which of course means that all of the developers will be gone hunting for the Easter bunny and whatnot.
This means that we will be slightly understaffed from april 6 to 8, and closed from april 9 to 13.
You might notice this as a slight delay in replies to your support tickets, little activity by Smartlaunch staff on the forums, and no answer on the phones.
This might not sound like good news at all, but look at it this way,
by giving our limited staff a small break, they will come back on the 14th of April fresh, eager and more committed than ever before.
So we hope that you will enjoy this next week of easter as well as us.

Phones are down

Hi.
I just wanted to let you all know, that our phone-provider has made a dodo and somehow accidentally cancelled our contract.
This means that our phone-number in Denmark: +45 8888 7800 (And all local extensions on that number) is down for the time being.
We are working hard on getting the contract and the phones back up, and will let you know when a resolution has been found.
Beta Available

Hi.
I just wanted to let everybody know, that everyone can now access the EAP-section of the forums, where the Smartlaunch 5 Beta can be downloaded. Though you still need to be logged in on the forums.

You still need to have your Smartlaunch account activated for beta access before you can run the beta. We have managed to get most of you activated, but if you haven’t been, then write a comment on the forums.

UPDATE:
Seems that the access-rights for the forum had been misconfigured. It should be fixed now.
But you need to be logged in on the forum, to be able to see the EAP forum sections.

We have now started seeding the beta.
Please have some patience if you have not been invited yet, I have a very long list of people who want to participate.
I will keep sending out invites every day until I get through the list.
You can still request a beta invite by sending me an e-mail with the following information:
- Your current Smartlaunch 4.1 account e-mail address
- Your username on the smartlaunch forums: http://forum.smartlaunch.net
Please also make sure to enter “SMARTLAUNCH 5 BETA” in the subject-field of your e-mail.

We will try to prepare a few screencasts for you as well, as to make sure that you get your installation running as smoothly as possible.

Today we sent of a closed beta to one of our partners, and if everything works as it should (though remember it is just a beta) it wont be long before the rest of you can join in.
We are however going to make the initial beta limited, so everyone who would like to participate, should send an e-mail to: thomas@smartlaunch.net with their smartlaunch account e-mail address, and a short list of the hardware that you plan on running the beta on. Merry Christmas
December 22, 2008 — Thomas DippelIt’s that time of year again.
It’s the time when your mind wanders a bit, you keep thinking about all the presents you need to buy,
and all the preparations you need to make.
If you are not careful it can stress you out.
But it is also the time when you get together with your loved ones and enjoy a bit of time off.
Enjoy that for a day or two you can dismiss all of the problems.
It’s about the only time a year that a team of full time software developers can stop thinking about break-points and compillers and just be thankful that they made it this far yet.
We still have a lot to do, and we will do it, but now it’s time to take a short break.
For the next week development and support will be a bit slow, and we hope that you will understand.
If Tiny Tim can have a Christmas after all then so can we
